FORMER stars from both sides of the Old Firm divide shared the stage at a recent sports dinner to help raise funds for a Helensburgh football club.
Rangers legend Mark Hateley and ex-Celtic favourite Murdo MacLeod joined around 170 guests at the town's Commodore Hotel last month for Ardencaple's 'goals and glamour' event.
Englishman Hateley, who won six league titles during his time with the Ibrox club in the early 1990s and scored nine goals for his national team during a successful playing career, auctioned off a signed Rangers top as part of the main fund-raiser for the night on September 21.
The retired striker was part of the Gers' nine-in-a-row winning side and, unsurprisingly, the shirt attracted much interest, eventually going for a grand total of £600.
Other prizes up for grabs on the night included a signed John McGinn Scotland top and a signed Harry Kane England top.
Caple spokesman Euan Birss said: "A very enjoyable evening for all concerned, where host for the evening Alex Fleming interviewed ex-Ranger and nine-in-a-row winner Mark Hateley, followed by comedian Gary Little, who provided the entertainment.
"The guests then danced the night away to music provided by Stewart Maule."
