RHU Amateurs' Saturday morning squad recorded a 3-1 win away to Greater Glasgow AFC in their latest Glasgow Colleges AFL BOCA Championship fixture.

With both teams having started the season strongly it would be a tough test for the Rhu side, but they got off to a dream start when they opened the scoring in under a minute.

A poor clearance by the home keeper fell into the path of Ali Milton who calmly slotted the ball into the net.

Rhu almost got a second, but this time the keeper kept the ball out of the net after a shot by Reece Court.

Parity was restored after ten minutes; this time it was Rhu keeper Steve Lewis with a blunder which allowed the striker to nip the ball from him and into the net.

This seemed to unsettle the Rhu team for some minutes, but they gradually began to dominate the game again and took the lead for a second time when Jordan Molloy broke down the left wing and shot low into the corner of the net.

In the second half the visitors were rarely troubled as they blunted the Glasgow sides attacks although they didn’t create as many chances as the possession dictated. Eventually they got the third, once again Milton finishing of a fine passing move involving Eammon Moy and Molloy.

Manager Jamie Kjorstad was delighted with the win, saying: “The Glasgow side were going to be a tough nut to crack but the lads did really well against them in what was our first away fixture of the season.

“The stuff we are working on at training is beginning to show results now, so hopefully we can continue this good run.”

Squad: Lewis, Adams, Kjorstad, Moy, Milton, Wilson, Brown, Scullion, Southern, Molloy, Molloy, Burch, Henry, Black, Court.
