AFTER the excitement of Scotland’s Calcutta Cup victory at Murrayfield, there’s a double bill of local rugby action at Ardencaple this weekend.
Lomond and Helensburgh’s first XV take on second-top Carrick in a West Division 2 fixture – their first home match of 2024 as a result of cup fixtures and weather-enforced postponements.
And the L&H second team are due to host their Cartha Queen’s Park counterparts in a West Reserve Development League match – their first game at Ardencaple since a victory over East Kilbride in November.
Both games take place on Saturday, March 2 and are scheduled to kick off at 3pm.
There's also youth action on Saturday for L&H's under-18 squad, who have a cup tie away to Marr with a 2pm kick-off.
Meanwhile, Lomond and Helensburgh’s U16 youth team chalked up a 19-12 win away to Oban Lorne on Sunday to cement their place at the top of Pool A in the West Youth Plate, following victories in January against Dalziel (29-24) and at home to Marr College (76-0).
The U16 squad round off their Pool A fixtures with a play-off against Marr at Ardencaple this Sunday, March 3, kicking off at 2pm.
The Marr game is the second of two youth fixtures at Ardencaple on Sunday, with Helensburgh's U14 squad taking on GHK at 1pm.
