A GARELOCHHEAD karate instructor who opened a club in the village shares his delight after students were awarded an orange belt.
We previously told that Callum Cairns returned to his roots to bring karate to a community he grew up in for 14 years after opening clubs in Paisley.
In October last year, the former Rosneath student started JKS Clyde classes in Centre 81 in Garelochhead hoping to inspire a new generation of Karateka.

Now, a selection of his students which ranged from father and son duos, sisters and even a family of four - were picked to attend at the JKS Scotland Headquarters in Fife to attempt a grading.
And it was a success all around as all the students that Callum took to the grading were awarded orange belts.
Callum told the Advertiser: "It was a great success. Every single student passed and was awarded with an orange belt to my delight.
"I was also successful later on in the day as I was awarded my Ni-dan certificate after grading alongside my stepfather Derek Hazlett who is the sensei of JKS Arrochar.
"With a wide range of students grading from as young as age seven to 50, it is never too late to start your karate journey.
"Many families practice karate together as it is a great way to spend time with your loved ones away from your TV and phone screens while staying fit and learning valuable life and self-defence skills."
Classes are available for both children and adults and will be held in Centre 81 on Mondays and Wednesdays between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
They also have brand new classes starting Thursday, February 1 at Argyll Dance Company's new dance studio on James Street in Helensburgh.
Booking for classes is now available and there will be limited spaces.
