CRAIGHELEN Tennis Club members Jim and Lesley McGowan were both winners in the Scottish Veterans Tennis tournament at Scotstoun last weekend.
Attracting players from throughout the UK, Lesley partnered up with Margaret French from Yorkshire to win the ladies’ over-75 doubles.
Winning the tournament was a great achievement in itself for Lesley, but what made it even more remarkable was the fact that it was achieved within 11 months of having a hip replacement following a fall playing tennis in February 2019 – an amazing comeback to the sport.
