THIRTY-FIVE young athletes from Helensburgh AAC put on another strong showing at the second Scottish Athletics Indoor League match of the season at the Emirates Arena.
Included in the squad were Abbie Dryburgh, Summer Curtis, Rory McClearn and Jack Berry, all taking part for the first time.
Holly Kenhard was first in the U13 girls’ high jump, Murray MacLeod took second in the U11 boys’ 600m and fourth in the 60m, Robert Court was second in the U17 boys shot put, and Alex Brown was third in the U15 boys’ long jump.

In the U20 age group, third places were achieved by Katie Flett in the 800m and Any Court in the triple jump, while Amy also took fourth place in the 60m hurdles. Other top five places were achieved by athletes in the U17 age group with Jenny Scott placing fourth in the 800m and Lexy Kenhard fifth in the high jump.
Placing in the top 10 were Holly Kenhard, Alex Brown and Amy Court in the 60m; Lexy Kenhard, Amirah Hassan and Lewis Tokeley in the 60m hurdles; Holly Kenhard, Lewis Tokeley and Sophie Michie in the 200m; Will Scott and Katie Flett in the 400m; Matthew Gall and Amirah Hassan in the 800m; Sarah Mitchell in the high jump; Alex Brown in the long jump; Jenny Scott and Amirah Hassan in the triple jump; and Sophie Michie and Teo Dorizon in the shot put.
Personal bests were recorded by Holly Kenhard, Lottie Horrocks, Robert Court and Amy Court in the 60m sprint; Lewis Tokeley in the 60m hurdles; Holly Kenhard, Lewis Tokeley, Teo Dorizon and Matthew Cameron in the 200m; Will Scott in the 400m; Lewis Cameron, Angus Ritchie, Matthew Gall and Will Scott in the 800m; and Eloise Dunn and Will Scott in the long jump.

In the shot put Sophie Michie, Isla McKinnon, Tom McClearn, Teo Dorizon and Maddie Rooney all set new best distances.
The results, combined with those from the first match of the indoor season, mean the U20 women’s team stays third overall and the U11 boys’ team moves up into fifth place.
The top placed teams will qualify for the Scottish Indoor finals later in the season, with all to be decided at the final match later this month.
