FOURTEEN young athletes from Helensburgh AAC made the short trip to Balloch Park to compete in the West District cross country championships at the weekend.
The event was held over a testing track up, down and around the park, with the conditions made more testing after recent heavy rain.
The stand out performance was from Matthew Gall in the under-13 boys event, with his 15th place over the 3.2km course seeing him selected for the West District team squad, with the chance of competing at the inter-district cross-country championship in January - congratulations Matthew.
