MEMBERS of Helensburgh FC’s 2011s squad are now kitted out in brand new training and playing equipment thanks to the generous support of two local companies.
The squad’s new playing kit has been funded with support from Vinny Johnstone and West Coast Cutters, while Michael Harrison Roofing provided financial help towards the cost of their new training equipment.
Gordon Brodie from the 2011 squad’s coaching team said: “Players, parents and coaches would like to thank these firms for their backing.
“In addition we would like to thank our existing sponsors, John Fraser Plumbing, Ridings Sawmills, Stewart and Shields, and The Commodore for their continued support.
“The team has been going for nearly three years and caters for players of all ages and abilities.
“We are moving to five-a-side this season and all the kids are very excited and prepared for this transition.
“We like to emphasise enjoyment, being part of a team and making life long friends as well as giving the kids the tools they require to enjoy their football and believe the kids thrive on these ideas.
“We play in a local Development League every Sunday as well as attending festivals both locally and further afield, and we train on Wednesday and Friday evenings at Hermitage Academy.”
Any young players interested in joining Helensburgh’s 2011 squad are welcome to come along to any training session, to contact the club online at helensburghfootballclub.co.uk or on Facebook, or by emailing Gordon directly on gbrodie5@hotmail.com.
