JOHN NEAL and John Neal junior won the Centenary Cup in Cove and Kilcreggan Bowling Club’s annual open pairs competition on Saturday.
The pair, representing the host club, beat Willie Stewart and Graeme Saunders from Rock Bowling Club in Dumbarton in the final.
The tournament’s losing semi-finalists all came from Clydebank BC – they were George Bunting and Stuart Riddle, and Alasdair Kenny and Alasdair Scott.
The Silver Run competition was won by Bob Baker (Cove and Kilcreggan) and Lee Walter (Barreman, Clynder), who beat Alan and Ian Roy from Garelochhead in the final.
The losing semi-finalists were Fraser Smith and Dorothy Bristow (Cove and Kilcreggan), and Gordon Stephen and Jill Dacombe of Helensburgh.
The many visiting players all said they enjoyed the competitive and exciting matches, played in a beautiful setting a jack’s throw from the Firth of Clyde.
