COLGRAIN Bowling Club's gents have won the Gareloch Bowling Association's Cup League for the first time since 2000.
The Colgrain A men's team saw off the challenge of Cove/Barreman, Garelochhead, Helensburgh A, Helensburgh B, Cardross and Colgrain B during the summer-long round robin competition.
The tournament structure sees each team play all its opponents once, before the league is split, with the top four in the standings at that point competing for the Cup and the bottom three doing battle for the Shield.
Colgrain A’s GBA triumph crowned one of the club’s most successful summers of recent years against tough competition from elsewhere: the club’s players also brought home the Dunbartonshire County men’s pairs and fours and ladies’ triples.
Scott Moorhouse from Colgrain BC said: “If anyone would like to be part of a very successful club please contact us via our website or Twitter.”
Colgrain’s website, which includes plenty of information about the club, its recent triumphs and its history, can be found at colgrainbowlingclub.org, while the club is on Twitter at @colgrainbowling.
