Volunteers filled bags of litter weighing 37kg from Helensburgh's shoreline during a beach clean at the weekend.
Organised by Plastic Free Helensburgh, locals joined forces to tidy the East Bay beach on Saturday, April 13 and filled five bags with plastic waste.
The group, which consisted of 16 adults and three children, concentrated on the grass area as the recent winter storms had blown up all the plastic debris.
Hundreds of plastic bottle lids, tampon applicators, cotton buds were collected leaving the area in a much better state than before.
And as a reward for their hard work, volunteers were able to warm up with a cup of coffee and home baking at Helensburgh Community Hub.
The town's next beach clean will take place on the shore at the promenade on Saturday, April 27 at 10am in, hopefully, better weather than that which graced the East Bay on Saturday.
Volunteers interested in lending a hand are asked to meet at the pier slipway and to bring suitable gloves.
New and returning volunteers are encouraged to join the effort with people of all ages welcome.
Participants do not need to stay for the whole clean and are invited to join even if they can only give 30 minutes of their time.
