A BROWNIE group in Rhu and Shandon is holding a special celebration to mark its centenary.
The 1st Rhu and Shandon Brownies was formed in December 1924 and, despite a brief suspension during the war, has run continuously ever since.
The group is now holding a 100th birthday celebration on Sunday, December 1 from 11am until 1pm in the Rhu Guide/Scout Hall.
Former brownies, parents and helpers who attended the unit are invited to attend to share their memories of past times.
Attendees may also be treated to a chocolate brownie on the day.
Anyone with any photos or old uniform is asked to let the leaders Katy or Sandra know.
