A POPULAR wine bar is celebrating being the best in the nation as the "culmination" of their hard work.
La Jupe Wine Bar was named the best in Scotland from the Scottish Licensing Trade Awards this month, beating Glasgow's Ubiquitous Chip and The Black Grape in Edinburgh.
The glittering awards at the Hilton Glasgow included categories celebrating best bartender, beer quality, best outdoor area, cocktail bars, community pubs and many others.
The judges described La Jupe as: "With chalkboards, rustic furniture and a relaxed vibe, this chic bar could be straight out of Paris.
"Francophiles will find old-world classics to sip on, while more adventurous drinkers can delve into a weekly-changing market menu that features bin ends, interesting grapes and unusual blends from across the globe.
"Thanks to a wine preservation system, almost everything is available by glass or carafe, all served by a switched-on, incentivised team."

Phil Luckett, owner of the venue on West Clyde Street in Helensburgh, told the Advertiser: "La Jupe winning this award feels like the culmination of years of hard work by the absolutely brilliant team here.
"It's their award. They've earned it and I couldn't be more proud of them."
While manager Siobhan McKay said: "I am so happy that our wee bar has been recognised for all the efforts put in to make it what it is today.
"My team is constantly adapting to different pressures within the industry to bring an authentic slice of the traditional European wine bar.
"Showing people that wine can be accessible to everyone and making it fun to learn about is always our goal at La Jupe, cannot wait to see where we go next."
And Aimée Ashworth, La Jupe's assistant manager, said it has been an "amazing year" for them.
"We've just been going from strength to strength and have no plans of slowing down any time soon," she said.
"It's a huge honour to be moving up in the ranks and see our name appearing alongside those of such renowned and celebrated businesses.
"So grateful for our extremely hardworking team and all of our lovely loyal customers that make achievements like this possible."
