A HELENSBURGH woman who recently celebrated her centenary will be taking to the stage in the town this weekend to bring Christmas joy.
Isa McKinnon has accepted an invitation from the Helensburgh Festive Lighting Charitable Trust to join Santa in Colquhoun Square on Saturday, November 23 to turn on the Christmas lights.
She has continued to feel the love from the town as she marked her 100th birthday on October 26.
Local charity Grey Matters organised a bash at The Bridge at the end of last month full of family and friends to celebrate a much-loved member of the group and community.
Alongside pressing the magic plunger to light up the town, the 100-year-old will have her own "special star" feature next to the crib.

A spokesperson from the Helensburgh Festive Lighting Charitable Trust said: "This year Santa will be sharing the stage with a very special birthday girl, Isa MacKinnon who has celebrated her 100th birthday this year.
"She’s accepted our invitation to switch-on the lights alongside Santa by pressing the magic plunger.
"Her special ‘star’ feature next to the crib will be lit for the first time. This was kindly donated by Isa’s dear friends at Grey Matters who will be there to welcome her to the square on Saturday.
"Comperes James McCracken and Donna Hicks will no doubt ensure everyone joins in to sing happy birthday to this very special lady before we move to the big countdown for the switch-on.
"We are hoping for a big turnout again this year and a most enjoyable day to celebrate the beginning of the festive season in our lovely wee town."
The switch-on event runs from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, November 23 in Colquhoun Square, with the lights being switched on between 4.30pm and 5pm.
There will be live music on stage from 12noon, community music and dance, carol singing from local churches and much more.
