With Christmas fast approaching, schools across Helensburgh, and Argyll and Bute are gearing up for the festive school holidays.

Over late December and early January, schools operated by the local authority are closed to give students and teachers a break before the start of the new semester.

Schools across Argyll and Bute will close on Friday, December 20, 2024. The holiday period will officially run from Monday, December 23, 2024 until Friday, January 3, 2025.

Students will return to class on Monday, January 6, 2025. This will be the beginning of the second school term.

These are all the holidays students and parents can expect for the rest of the school year.

The 2024/2025 year will end on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, marking the beginning of the school summer holidays.

February half-term break

  • Friday, February 7, 2025, until Tuesday, February 18, 2025 (In-service day)

April - Spring Holiday (Easter)

  • Friday, April 4, 2025, until Monday, April 21, 2025
  • Schools will return on Tuesday, April 22, 2025

  • The last day of school will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, marking the beginning of the summer holidays
