A BUSY road near Arrochar will be closed overnight next week for roadworks.
Road surface improvements on the A83 between Ardgartan and Honeymoon Bridge will be undertaken between Monday, November 25 until Wednesday, December 4.
The A83 will be closed in both directions at the work site each night - except Friday or Saturday - between 8pm and 5am, with traffic diverted via the A82, A85 and the A819.
The road will be open outwith working hours on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30, with speed restrictions in place because of a temporary road surface.
This is an additional 25 miles for those travelling between Tarbet and Inveraray, which is approximately 35 minutes extra journey time.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained.
BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, have said the complete work will provide a smoother and safer driving surface for road users.
North west representative, Ian Stewart, said: “This resurfacing work on the A83 will address road defects and enhance driving conditions.
“The road closure is necessary for the safety of both road users and the workforce, but we aim to keep disruption to a minimum by conducting the work overnight.
“We are grateful to the local community and road users for their patience."
