A CYCLIST who covered 7,300 miles across the UK is set to give a talk in Helensburgh.
In 2022, Mark Wedgwood embarked on a six-month 'odyssey', cycling across all 204 Ordnance Survey Landranger maps in numerically ascending order.
This took him to every corner of Scotland, England, Wales, and the Isle of Man.
The adventure introduced him to both the most 'extreme and hard-to-reach' places, as well as the most mundane and everyday.
His talk in Helensburgh will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 28 at Victoria Halls in Sinclair Street.
He said: "2022 was a life-changing year for me. I set myself a unique personal challenge to cycle to all parts of Britain via every OS Landranger map, in numerical order.
"It has been really rewarding to share my journey in person this year, and I'm thrilled to have another chance to hopefully inspire a few more people to find and achieve their own personal adventures.
"It all starts with curiosity, and it can lead to a whole new way of life. Anything is possible."
Mark is now sharing his experiences in talks for the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS).
His carefully devised cycling routes reveal lesser-known places, strange anomalies, and endearing stories that highlight the uplifting experiences Britain has to offer.
Tickets are available to book online in advance here at rsgs.org/events.
