DOZENS of people have been charged with serious road traffic crimes in recent months, say police.
Since June 1, there have been 12 people charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
A total of 19 were alleged to have driven carelessly and another nine charged with dangerous driving across Helensburgh and Lomond.
Inspector Bart Simonis gave the updated figures at the November 12 community planning group meeting in the town.
He said road safety remained a priority for the local force.
Meanwhile, in the past week, there were a number of speeding drivers caught again on the A83 at Tarbet.
They ranged in age from 23 up to 64-years-old and were fined for being well over the 30mph limit.
A 43-year-old man from Cumnock was reported to the procurator fiscal for allegedly driving at 43mph on November 6 at 9am.
Less than an hour later, a 29-year-old man from the Dunbar area was also reported for speeding.
And an hour after that, a 43-year-old man from Perth was reported for allegedly driving at 47mph.
On November 10, a 75-year-old man from the Calder area was reported to prosecutors for reaching 47mph on the A82 at Arrochar.
And later that night, a 20-year-old from Ballymena was stopped by police for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol near West Clyde Street, Helensburgh.
A 19-year-old woman from Kilcreggan was also fined for driving in a careless manner on November 9 at around 11.50pm on the A818 in Helensburgh.
