UPDATE: Police Scotland confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, November 12 that William Barclay had been traced safe and well.
Police searching for a missing Ayrshire man have confirmed a sighting of him near Loch Lomond.
William Barclay was reported missing at the end of August from the Newmilns area of East Ayrshire.
The 54-year-old was last seen on August 26 and was reported missing on September 28.
Now Police Scotland said CCTV has confirmed a sighting of the man in Arrochar.
He has been known to spend time in the Oban, Fort William and Mallaig areas, and normally travels by bus.
William is described as 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build with short grey hair. He speaks with a Scottish or Ayrshire accent and is softly spoken.
Helensburgh Inspector Bart Simonis said: "Following CCTV enquires, William has been seen in Arrochar on October 23.
"At this time, he was wearing a baseball style hat and dark outdoor clothing. We believe William is wild camping and have had positive sightings of him again in Arrochar with the last being on November 5.
"Williams family are concerned for him and we are keen to ensure he is safe and well.
"If you think you have seen William or have information as to his whereabouts, please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 1035 of September 28."
