A KARATE world champion paid a special visit to students in Garelochhead to help improve their fighting techniques.
JKS Clyde had the privilege of hosting Daisuke Watanabe Sensei at Centre 81 Garelochhead alongside their neighbours JKS Arrochar on October 23.
Watanabe Sensei is a JKS Japan Honbu Dojo instructor and is also an instructor at the prestigious Teikyo University.
Callum Cairns, who runs JKS Clyde, told the Advertiser: "It was a privilege to host such an esteemed and accomplished instructor at our Garelochhead dojo.
"We had a great turnout at this event and all students in attendance had a great time.
"We are very fortunate to be a JKS Scotland member dojo as our association has such strong ties to Japan, and we regularly benefit from hosting instructors from the JKS Japan Honbu dojo, which ensures we are teaching truly authentic Japanese karate."

Some of the champion's most notable achievements include 5th Dan black belt, two times WKF Premier League Kumite champion and two times JK world individual and team champion.
His lesson at the Garelochhead dojo was aimed at developing sport fighting techniques from the ground up which included foot work and striking.
"We are very grateful for our close relationship with our neighbours JKS Arrochar as we get to support each other at events, courses and seminars fostering a true community spirit between our Helensburgh and Lomond based clubs."
Last month, Callum and his stepdad Derek represented Scotland in an international karate competition just a year after getting back into competing.
They were called up to represent Scotland in the prestigious Polish Open which took place in Bielsko-Biała on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.
