A POPULAR and award-winning business that makes mothers look amazing for their children's weddings is up for sale.
Elegance Boutique of Helensburgh is being put on the market by owner Doreen Shields who is looking to retire to spend more time with her family.
The 62-year-old started the business 10 years ago from scratch and focuses on mother-of-the-bride or groom outfits, as well as occasion wear for many special events. The shop's accessories include shoes, bags, jewellery and a popular hat service.
It was the winner of the Confetti Awards 2019 for the best mother of the bride retailer in Scotland, which is something she is very proud of achieving.
But Doreen said: "People travel from all over Scotland to us. Customers always recommend us.
"I want to retire to spend more time with friends, family and get back to some of my hobbies that I've not been able to do for years."
Doreen said it is the business only that is for sale, and the John Street shop would be available for rent if required.
She has confirmed that she will keep the shop open until a new owner is found until then.
The businesswoman said she has reduced the price of the business to make it more affordable and "give someone else the chance to take it forward".
"There's lots of potential with this business," she added.
"I just want to let my customers know that I am not closing down. I will very much be here until a new owner is found for the business. Until that happens it will be business as usual."
