AN 18-year-old has become the latest young person to join a Helensburgh choir's bursary programme.
Ben Miller, from Alexandria, has become part of the Helensburgh Oratorio Choir through its choral bursary programme.
Currently a gap year student on a juniors piano programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Ben will join the choir for their performance of Mozart's 'Requiem' and Bruckner's 'Te Deum' on November 17.
He said: "Being plunged into the challenging repertoire the choir sings is exciting. I hope it will open a new musical window for me and broaden my skill set."
Ben hopes to continue his musical journey by applying for a place on the Bachelor of Music degree, and aims to become a successful professional musician.
Alicia Tindal, chairman of the Helensburgh Oratorio Choir, said: "Young Ben is already a fantastic pianist, and joining the choir to sing such famous pieces as Mozart’s 'Requiem' will certainly help his confidence.
"Our scholarship programme is always looking to help young people, and the choir’s combination of knowledge and experience is a fantastic resource for any aspiring musician."
The concert on November 17 will be at Helensburgh Parish Church in Colquhoun Square at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £15 for adults, £7.50 for students and under 18s are free.
