MORE than £1,200 was raised thanks to a special musical evening in Helensburgh recently.
The local branch of Save the Children held the show in the Gathering Space of Helensburgh Parish Church.
It featured final year students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland who performed a variety of songs including traditional Scottish tunes, operatic arias and songs from musicals, including a selection from Les Miserables.
And the audience also got to enjoy a selection of canapés at the interval.

The said: "The committee is most grateful to all who supported the event, by coming along or giving a donation.
"Special thanks to Loch Lomond Cruises, the Scandinavian Shop and Somerville Butchers for raffle prizes.
"The money raised will be directed to where Save the Children believes it is most needed, whether it be Gaza, Ukraine, Afghanistan or any of the 120 countries in the world, including 2the UK, where it operates Save the Children's teams are working in these countries, with local partners and charities, in incredibly difficult conditions, to deliver services such as cash assistance, setting up learning spaces, child protection and providing essential items such as mattresses, heaters and solar lights.
