KIND-hearted locals braved wet conditions for a successful beach clean in Rhu earlier this month.
The event, which took place at Rhu Bay on Saturday, October 12 saw 10 people volunteer for a few hours despite the autumn weather of rain and winds.
Several bags of rubbish were collected during the clean along with a tyre and a piece of stone.
A spokesperson from the group said: "It made a big difference to the beach which had been covered with small plastics and general debris."
Their next beach clean will take place on Saturday, November 9 from 10am-11.30am, and all volunteers are welcome.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the bus stop and toilet block area at the beach before the clean.
Equipment will be provided by the organisers, but participants are asked to bring their own gloves.
