PLANNING notifications have been submitted to council officials for a series of tall wooden poles to be situated in various locations across Helensburgh and Lomond.

Openreach has given the authority notice of its intent to site the structures at several locations across the council area.

The poles in Helensburgh and Lomond are at 133 Sinclair Street, 131 Feorlin Way in Garelochhead, Horton Place, 2 Diana Vernon Court, and 5 Monaebrook Place.

As the applications are telecommunications provider notifications, Argyll and Bute Council only lists them as being closed, with no decision to be made on whether to award planning permission.

In a standard letter from the council’s central validation team, it is stated: “The council has recorded your notification and hereby informs you that no assessment of the information provided has been undertaken and no liability on behalf of the council for the accuracy of the submitted information may be assumed or inferred.

“Where the proposed development is located within a road corridor (inclusive of footways and verges) it is incumbent upon the developer to ensure that they provide separate notification to the relevant roads authority to advise of any undertakings on land within their control.

“Developers are reminded of the additional conditions placed upon deemed planning permission.

“These include additional duties relating to the notification of the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), secretary of state for defence, and the Met Office, and impose other limitations on the development that is permitted to be undertaken without express permission being required from the planning authority.”
