THE voices of young people in Helensburgh are wanted for a new town-focused youth project.
Arts organisation Cove Park have set up the youth project to encourage young people in Helensburgh and Lomond to share their views on topical issues in the town from the skatepark to the waterfront development.
The first week, which takes place from 4-6pm today (October 22) at the Pavilion in Hermitage Park, will involve making banners for the upcoming rally at the town's waterfront on Saturday, October 26.
The session is also including tape art as a method of sharing thoughts.
As previously reported, a rally against plans for a waterfront supermarket will focus Helensburgh's efforts this weekend.
Helensburgh Community Council (HCC) have dubbed the event as a "celebration" of it being public space instead of large retail.
More than 4,000 people have signed a petition against the decision by Argyll and Bute Council to award preferred bidding status to plans for a supermarket next to the leisure centre.
The new weekly and arts activism club will run for six weeks, every Tuesday, for young people aged between 11 and 15.
