A SECOND consultation event for a large housing development in Cardross will be held at the end of the month.

As previously reported, a pre-application notice was lodged with Argyll and Bute Council by housing firm Taylor Wimpey for a site at Geilston Farm, bounded by Murrays Road, the A814 and the Helensburgh-Dumbarton railway line.

The housing developer held their first public consultation on Wednesday, September 25 to discuss the plans.

Taylor Wimpey are now holding their second in-person event on Tuesday, October 29 from 4-8pm at Cardross village hall to inform the community of its proposals.

This event will allow the homebuilder to present how it has evolved its design proposals and highlight the changes it has made following the comments received during the first public consultation event and engagement process.

Once again, members of the public will be able to chat directly with the design team to provide further feedback or comments on the proposed development.

It is not known how many homes are actually intended to be on the site, and no formal planning application has yet been submitted.

However, Taylor Wimpey plan to apply to Argyll and Bute Council to develop the land at Geilston Farm to provide a range of "high-quality new homes, including 25 per cent dedicated to affordable housing".

Andrew Roberts, strategic land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey in Scotland, said: “Our second public consultation event is the next important step of our community engagement process, and it gives us another opportunity to discuss our development proposals for the area directly with key stakeholders and members of the community.

“The event also allows us to show members of the local community how we have evolved our proposals for development following the feedback and comments that we received at the first public consultation event and our ongoing discussions with other key local stakeholders.

“We will encourage those who attend to complete our feedback forms, and all comments we receive are reviewed and considered as we shape our proposal for the development ahead of making our planning application later this year."

For those unable to join in person, full details about the latest proposals and an opportunity to leave feedback are also available on their website at taylorwimpey.co.uk/landat-geilston-farm.
