THE time of harvest is ensuring bountiful collections of food to support families in need across Helensburgh and Lomond.

Rhu and Shandon Parish Church welcomed three cars full of donations to the Helensburgh and Lomond Foodbank at the weekend.

On Sunday, the church collected fresh fruit and vegetables from their harvest service to add to the total, along with £120 in cash donations.

The church told the Advertiser: "The church holds regular monthly food bank collections, alternating between Shandon and Rhu.
