A CLOSING date has been set for the sale of an area of woodland in Rhu.
The owners of Ardenconnel Wood in Rhu have listed the 9.66 acres of land for sale at offers over £20,000.
Goldcrest Land and Forestry Group, who are marketing the sale, has set a closing date for bids of Friday, October 4 at 12pm due to the "level of interest".
Ardenconnel Wood comprises a diverse mix of broadleaved species interspersed with conifer trees.
The sale description states that the sale is a rare opportunity and has "long-term development potential".
Yesterday, the Advertiser reported that Duchess Wood in Helensburgh has also gone on the market, with owners Luss Estates Company seeking offers over £70,000.
Luss Estates confirmed they are in support of a community purchase of Duchess Wood, but volunteer group Friends of Duchess Woods are not said to be in a position pursue the option themselves.

The brochure for Ardenconnel Wood said: "Deer numbers are low, and a healthy understorey has developed within the woodland.
"The woodlands are currently managed to promote nature conservation, biodiversity and community enjoyment.
"The public are actively encouraged to explore the woods and connect with nature. Nestled within residential areas, these woods feature a network of paths, bridges, and informative boards strategically placed to enhance public engagement and enjoyment.
"While the wood is not used for commercial purposes, it possesses significant amenity value and natural capital. There is also potential for selective felling and thinning to provide firewood."
