A RECRUITMENT window to join Helensburgh’s Coastguard Rescue Team has now opened.
Volunteers are being sought to become coastguard rescue officers (CROs) at the Rhu Marina station.
CROs will be trained in a number of competencies from water rescue, mud rescue, advanced first aid, search, pyrotechnic and ordnance response as well as other smaller competencies which would be completed within the first year of probation.
Volunteers in this role are not paid, but can claim a small amount for expenses.
You must stay and/or work within 10 minutes of the station, have a current driving licence, be reasonably fit, and be aged over 18.
You must also be available to attend all training at Greenock Fire Station from Monday, March 17 until Friday, and the first and last weekends in April (5-6 and 26-27).
