HM Naval Base Clyde has opened a newly upgraded gymnasium.
The revamped facility, now named The Trident Gym, was officially opened by base commander Clyde, Commodore Sharon Malkin, on August 26.
The gym refurbishment was led by warrant officer physical trainer Vercoe, with £400,000 funding from the Royal Navy's human performance team, OP HIND, on behalf of Director Submarines.
The Trident Gym is designed to support military personnel in improving their health, wellbeing, and personal fitness, promoting a lifelong exercise habit.
It includes areas for boxing, strength conditioning, and functional fitness, and will also be used by submarine qualifying course students.
Shortly after the gym's official opening, Commodore Malkin presented leading physical trainer Lavender with the Herbert Lott Award.
This award recognised his outstanding leadership and organisational skills, particularly demonstrated during HM Naval Base Clyde's families' day in July.
LPT Lavender played a key role in ensuring a fantastic experience for both Royal Navy families and the wider community.
He coordinated a variety of activities, including a petting zoo, bird of prey display, climbing wall, bouncy castle, and displays from 43 Commando and local emergency services.
