A REPEAT Helensburgh offender was back in the dock again a week after being jailed for a spree of crimes.
Paul Wright appeared from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on September 24 to be sentenced for a breach of a community payback order that was imposed in March last year.
Last week, the 38-year-old was jailed for almost three years having been caught with a weapon and assaulted a police officer.
As we previously reported, Wright pleaded guilty to a string of offences stemming from an incident in the town late last year.
During the incident on Williamson Drive, he hurled racist abuse and spat at a police sergeant, narrowly avoiding her.
Later that evening, whilst at Clydebank police office, he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner causing fear and alarm by uttering obscene remarks, including "F**k you big robo cop" and "baldy b******s".
He returned to the court for his breach of his community disposal after previously pleading guilty to acting in a threatening and abusive manner between The Smiddy Bar on Dumbarton Road in Glasgow and Govan police station on March 31, 2022.
Wright shouted, swore, uttered offensive remarks and refused to leave when asked to do so.
He then obstructed four police officers by tensing his arms, throwing his body around and attempt to kick the police officers during his bid to evade arrest.
He later refused to answer questions and spat in the direction of the custody bar.
He had been on two bail orders at the time, dating back to 2021.
Sheriff Lorna Anderson imposed a 26-week prison sentence which is to be served concurrently to his current sentence.
The sheriff said: "I appreciate that the community payback order was put in place and you were simply unable to do it.
"Pragmatically speaking I am going to recall it and then proceed to deal with offences on the basis that you were unable to do the hours of work because you were already in custody."
