VIEWS are being sought by Transport Scotland on the Gourock to Kilcreggan ferry service.
The transport body has published its latest community needs assessment, which helps to inform future decisions on the route.
The Kilcreggan–Gourock service is operated by a small passenger-only monohull vessel, MV Chieftain.
There are 25 sailings per week on the route, with none on a Sunday. Around 47,000 passengers were carried on the route in 2022.
Options mooted for the route include re-introducing a Sunday service, and operating a triangular Gourock–Kilcreggan–Dunoon service during peak hours.
Under the plans, Kilcreggan would experience a reduction in the frequency of the service, but the operating hours of the route would be extended.
A new sea-based connection between Kilcreggan and Dunoon would also be created.
A "radical option" of a triangular route is also being mooted, with one vessel operating in each direction throughout the day.

Transport Scotland is hosting a drop-in event at Cove Burgh Hall on Tuesday, October 1 from 3pm to 5.30pm to answer any questions.
An online survey on the plans can also be found at transport.gov.scot/public-transport/ferries/infrastructure-projects/#63635.
