A LONG-SERVING teacher said goodbye to Rhu pupils and colleagues as she headed off into retirement.
Principal teacher Maureen Air at Rhu Primary drew to a close her 40 years in education with Argyll and Bute Council, where she spent most of her years at the Cumberland Road school.
Earlier this month, she enjoyed a farewell afternoon tea with current and former school staff and was later presented with her quaich by headteacher Linda Macbeath at her retirement assembly.
Mrs Macbeath told the Advertiser: "We will be sad to see Mrs Air leave us as she has been a wonderful teacher at Rhu Primary.
"I would like to thank Maureen for her commitment to the school and she will be greatly missed by us all.
"We wish her good health for a long and happy retirement.”
The Advertiser would like to wish Maureen a very happy retirement.
