A HELENSBURGH business duo are supporting local naval families in celebration of a momentous anniversary.
Husband and wife team Michael and Anna Curley, who run The Deli in the Square on Colquhoun Square, have been trading in the town for 25 years.
The couple ran the much-loved Buffet Shop for 18 years before closing its doors in 2016.
They are now running a special offer throughout October as a huge thank you to their customers over the past quarter of a century.
Anna told the Advertiser: "When we came to the seaside town 26 years ago, the only experience we had of Helensburgh was Michael’s father being in a nursing home here.
"We had heard from other people who had traded here that it was a good town to do business in and if you sell good quality produce at a fair price you will get on okay.
"Now, we have reached our 25th anniversary trading in Helensburgh we would like to thank the townsfolk for supporting us throughout our time here."
Throughout the month of October, the couple will be donating £1 from every £6.50 meal deal sold in the Deli in the Square to the Royal Navy and Royal Marine Charity (RNRMC) to thank the service of the crew and their families in the town.
The special anniversary is a small window of the 200-year history of experience in the food industry between the pair's families which include Curley's Provisions and Groceries to De Felice's Café.
Anna added: "We as a family are a firm believer that if you receive benefits from a town you trade in, you are duty bound to give something back to the town.
"It says a lot for Helensburgh people who have supported us for quarter of a century. In essence, always work in partnership with the town.
"Although our ethos when it comes to charities, is to support in some way as many legitimate charities, whether little or large and hopefully over the years we have contributed to many.
"We have had a close association over the years in remembrance of our veterans and supporting our servicemen and women and their families and thanking them for the not always apparent support they give to the town."
