THE sentencing of a Helensburgh man caught in possession of thousands of indecent images has been delayed until next month.

Kieran Webster, 26, pleaded guilty to three indictment charges at a hearing at Greenock Sheriff Court last month.

He had a haul of 28,000 indecent images stored across three devices.

It follows a similar conviction in 2021, which saw him jailed for 30 months after he was found with 130,000 photographs.

He was also due to remain under supervision for a further three years for the 2021 offence, but this aspect of his sentence was later quashed on appeal.

Webster, who is currently remanded at HMP Greenock, returned to court for sentencing on Tuesday, but a hearing was told that social work reports which had been previously requested were unavailable.

He is now due to be sentenced on October 8.
