A WARRANT has been issued for a Helensburgh man accused of carrying out an assault and robbery almost five years ago after he failed to appear at a pre-trial hearing.
Michael James Hassan, 36, is alleged to have attacked a man at an address in Rothesay on December 8, 2019.
He is charged with seizing the man by his body and pulling him into the property.
Prosecutors say Hassan, whose address was listed as Old Luss Road, repeatedly punched the complainer on the head causing him to fall to the ground, before throwing him down a flight of stairs.
Whilst the man lay on the ground, Hassan is alleged to have repeatedly punched him and seized him by the hair to his injury.
He is also charged with robbing him of a mobile phone.
Hassan was absent when the case called at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Sheriff Anthony McGeehan granted a warrant for his arrest.
