A CHARITY night at a pub in Helensburgh raised nearly £5,000 for the organisation supporting the armed forces and their families.
The 70s and 80s disco night at the Commodore Hotel saw more than 130 people attend the SSAFA event on August 31, which was opened by Captain Elaine Boyd, captain of HMNB Clyde.
Eight Royal Marines also attended the event to show their support for the charity.
Janet Mulvaney, event chair at SSAFA, said: "Everyone was in the party spirit from the start, and many had gone the extra mile in terms of costumes.
"There are many people that made this night a success and made it special.
"Can I thank Captain Boyd, for taking the time to open the night and remind people why SSAFA is important to our forces, their families, and our local community.
"My thanks to the Royal Marines that volunteered to represent our armed forces.
"They went down a storm, on and off the dance floor.
"My final thanks would to the small team that helped organise it, those local businesses that sponsored tables and gave raffle prizes."
