A COMMUNITY group for people aged over 60 in Helensburgh had great success at their fundraising table top sale.

Crowds packed into Helensburgh Parish Church to find themselves a few bargains at Grey Matters Active Ageing’s fundraiser on Saturday, August 31.

Attendees came from all over the area as the sunshine brought people out for the day.

There was a good mix of stalls on offer from home baking. crafts, plants, nearly new clothing, pre-loved handbags, brick-a-brac, raffle and children's lucky dip.

The group successfully raised over £1,000 which will will go towards Grey Matters Active Ageing and their activities to reduce loneliness and isolation in older residents aged 60+ in Helensburgh and Lomond.

Organiser Alison Gildea said ‘ We were absolutely delighted to see so many people come along.

"Our sincere thanks to all that came, the stall holders, volunteers and those who donated things for the stalls.

"Thanks also to Jim and Helensburgh Parish Church. It was a resounding success and we made well over £1,000 for our charity. Thank you all."
