Dozens of cars spanning nearly a century took to the roads through Helensburgh and Lomond at the weekend.

The Scottish Western Thoroughbred Vehicle Club (SWTVC) held its annual run from Kidston car park through to Rosneath Castle Caravan Park at the weekend.

Jof and Ben Morgan with their 1927 Alvis. The furthest travelled to todays meeting driving for 5 hours from Balmedie, nr Aberdeen.

Jof and Ben Morgan with their 1927 Alvis 1250 Sports Saloon, which they drove to the rally on a five-hour, 166-mile journey from Balmedie near Aberdeen.

Despite the weather, the first cars brought brighter skies with a total of 37 of all types and ages arriving.

The oldest was a 1927 Alvis 1250 Sports Saloon owned by John Morgan, who drove it 166 miles from Balmedie, north of Aberdeen.

A spokesperson for the event organisers said: "After spending more than an hour to allow the locals to admire and put their questions to the drivers, we set off on our run around the Peninsula to be greeted by many locals waving from their gardens and vantage points.

"On arrival at the caravan park, the run participants put their cars on display and enjoyed a light lunch in the sunshine that had made an appearance for us.
