A Helensburgh man has been awarded the Clean Up Scotland Hero award for his efforts in keeping Scotland litter-free.
Andrew Stocks was given the accolade by Keep Scotland Beautiful after he was nominated by his daughter Helen who "could not hazard a guess as to how much litter he has disposed of or how many hours he has spent picking up other people’s rubbish."
She said: “He just does it quietly, it’s not something he does for recognition or as part of any group. It’s just something he does when he’s walking the dog.
“My dad doesn’t do this for the thanks, or to get others to join him. He does it to make where he lives a genuinely better place.
“No piece of rubbish is too big or too small and no weekend is complete for him without at least three bin bags worth of rubbish retrieved.”
Mr Stocks' litter-picking efforts have also inspired his daughter to join in.
She said: "If he comes through to Glasgow, it’ll be something we go out and do together.
"And now I’ll always pick up litter when I see it on the street."
Barry Fisher, chief executive at Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: "I am incredibly pleased to award Andrew with our Clean Up Scotland Hero award.
"He is a great role model for everyone and really deserves this recognition for his enduring determination.
"Scotland has a litter emergency, so it is more important than ever that we look after our beautiful country and keep it clean and tidy.
“Our latest report found that 90% of people believe litter is an issue across the country, so we all have a responsibility to play our part.”
Chrissie Jeffery, Scottish lead for Helping Hand, said: “Since 2014, we have taken immense pride in championing the Hero of the Month Award, a platform that recognises the extraordinary dedication of individuals and organisations striving to Keep Scotland Beautiful.
“Today, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the latest winner, Andrew, and we will be sending them a sustainable litter picking kit to help continue their remarkable efforts in contributing to the collective goal of fostering a cleaner, greener Scotland.
“We believe in empowering those who share our passion for environmental stewardship, and it is truly inspiring to witness the positive influence these heroes have on their communities.”
