A RURAL road near Arrochar that was closed overnight due to heavy rain has now reopened to traffic.
The busy road had been closed since 7pm on Wednesday, August 21 as a yellow warning for rain was in place for the area.
We previously reported that BEAR Scotland diverted traffic at the A83’s Rest and Be Thankful along the Old Military Road throughout the night.
However, following a hillside inspection this morning (August 22), it has been confirmed that traffic moved back onto the A83 from 10am.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland's North West representative, said: “The use of the Old Military Road again proved to be very successful, keeping Argyll very much open for business through the very wet period.
“We thank road users for their patience.”
