A RESCUE operation has been launched near a caravan park in Rosneath.
Emergency services were called to Rosneath Bay at 9.30am on Friday after a report was received of someone in the water.
A search and rescue operation has been launched with multiple services involved.
The Advertiser has been told that a coastguard helicopter, Ministry of Defence Police and Police Scotland are currently on the scene, along with the Helensburgh RNLI lifeboat.
MoD Police and the coastguard referred the Advertiser to Police Scotland for comment.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A search and rescue operation was launched this morning after police received a report of someone in the water off Rosneath Bay, near Helensburgh.
“Officers were notified around 9.30am this morning.”
