The Vale of Leven Hospital has won an international award for its work culture.
The Alexandria facility was recognised with the Investors in People award after a programme of staff engagement saw teams analyse and adapt working practices if necessary.
This was part of a project led by Louise Watson, chief allied healthcare professional for the 'Clyde sector' at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and Julie Pearson, the health board's senior organisational development advisor.
Louise said: "Part of this work was carried out in the post-Covid timeframe and all the change that entailed.
"The process allowed us to look more closely at how we were operating and potentially identify areas that deserved more focus.
“Now we are at a stage where we are actively sharing any new-found knowledge across all three sites in Clyde.”
Julie added: "The staff engagement sessions allowed us to discover what staff were looking for, especially in terms of leadership and visibility of leadership figures, so we have been able to support teams and managers, so that staff voices can be heard."
Ann MacPherson, HR director at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: “As chair of the Board’s Investors in People steering group, I have seen the great work that has been underway across the board to help achieve this accreditation.
"I am impressed by the enthusiasm and engagement of the teams in the Clyde sector and the Vale of Leven Hospital.
“We encourage ideas from all staff with sharing applied across teams. The continual assessment and development of our culture activities is so valuable to the work that NHSGGC does as it also supports our approach to quality improvement.
“It’s great to see that even small changes can make a big difference to how we operate.”
