PEOPLE in Cove and Kilcreggan are being invited to join in a community beach clean this weekend.
Organised by Cove and Kilcreggan Community Green Group in conjunction with the Cove and Kilcreggan Community Council, the event takes place this Saturday, August 10, between 1pm and 4pm, meeting at the Kilcreggan bus shelter.
A spokesperson said: “Please bring your own gloves, and if you have litter pickers, please bring them.
“We will provide bin bags, courtesy of Argyll and Bute Council. and as many pickers as we can get our hands on.
“Return the waste bags to the junction of Shore Road and Fort Road, and Argyll and Bute Council will collect them later.
“The most recent beach clean earlier in the year was a huge success, so we hope to keep up the momentum.
“We also aim to start a series of ‘deep cleans’ of problem areas, such as the east side of Kilcreggan Bay – more info on the day.”
