There are twice as many opportunities to help tidy our corner of the planet this weekend.
Community beach cleans are set for Saturday and Monday in Helensburgh thanks to the volunteers at Plastic Free Helensburgh, Helensburgh Community Council and Hope Community Church.
There will be a litter pick at Helensburgh Pier on Saturday, July 27 from 10am to 11.30am - finishing up just in time for the dog show and market in Colquhoun Square.
Then on Monday, July 29 at Craigendoran, there will be a beach clean from 2.30pm.
The Saturday effort is organised by the community council and Plastic Free Helensburgh.
Participants are asked to meet at the pier slipway in the town. Equipment will be provided by organisers, but volunteers are asked to bring suitable gloves.
The Monday clean-up is a joint effort between the green campaigners and Hope Community Church.
Meet at Station Road, on the car park side of the train station near the footbridge. Litter pickers and bags will be provided, but again, please bring your own gloves.
