A NEW family fun day has been set up after the cancellation of a best-loved family event in Helensburgh and Lomond.
The free event will take place at Rosslea Hall Hotel on Sunday, August 18 from 12pm-4pm after the Rhu and Shandon Gala was cancelled.
There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, children's games, tombola, raffle and a reduced cost barbecue and drinks.
Children will have the rare opportunity to take a look inside a police or fire vehicle as both emergency services will be in attendance on the day.
As previously reported, one of the best-loved family events in the Helensburgh and Lomond calendar will not take place this year.
The Rhu and Shandon Gala's organisers said they were "disheartened" to halt the 2024 event but hoped it would give them time to plan something better for next year.
The event returned in June 2023 after a three-year absence, with groups, businesses, competitions, music and fun in glorious sunshine.
But organisers said they have struggled with the "significant loss" of committee members, which means they just can't take it forward for 2024.
However, Rosslea Hall Hotel has come to the rescue and is hoping to put on their first event to bring the community together and are looking for local musicians to join in.
A spokesperson from Rosslea Hall Hotel said: "The day is an opportunity to bring together a sense of community and let individuals see the hotel.
"It's the perfect day to enjoy with friends and family, support local businesses, and connect with our wonderful community
"We have a number of vendors and local producers attending but we are hoping to welcome others.
"We would also be looking for local musicians to join and help us with equipment and to preform an open mic session over the four hours."
Anyone looking to showcase their business is asked to contact Christine at sales@rossleahallhotel.co.uk.
