A MAN has appeared in court charged with an attempted murder in Helensburgh.
John Rae is alleged to have committed a series of crimes during an incident in the Churchill area of Helensburgh on Sunday, July 21.
The 55-year-old, described as a resident of Glasgow, is charged with an assault to the danger of life.
He is also charged with assaulting police in the course of their duty.
The Crown alleges that Mr Rae failed to stop his motor vehicle when required and that he failed to report his details after an incident.
He is further accused of using threatening or abusive behaviour likely to cause fear or alarm.
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and also with breaching bail conditions.
Mr Rae made no plea or declaration during a private hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, and was committed for further examination.
He was remanded in custody and will return to court within eight days, Police reported a man was arrested after an incident at 8.15pm in Camperdown Court on Sunday, July 21.
