A WOMAN has been held to appear in court for allegedly spitting at police while paramedics tried to treat her.

Officers attended to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service in the early hours of Monday morning after reports of an intoxicated woman lying on the grass near the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre.

When police arrived around 12am on July 8, the woman was reportedly violent, kicking out towards officers, spitting at them and being verbally abusive throughout being treated.

The 26-year-old, from Helensburgh, was later arrested and was expected to appear from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.
