Police are appealing for information over a supermarket theft and vandalism last week.

The incident happened at about 11pm on June 24 at the Co-op in Helensburgh's Sinclair Street.

A male youth went into the store and stole a quantity of alcohol before throwing a can at a shop worker, according to police.

The item missed the staff member, but instead hit and smashed a store window.

It is believed the youth was with a group, but he is the only one being sought currently.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Helensburgh police on 101 or Crimestoppers.
